About Dr. Marillea Yu
ND
Dr. Marillea Yu is a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) in Toronto, ON. She is a graduate of the
University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown, PE and completed her training as a ND at
The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.
Dr. Yu takes an evidence-informed and wholistic approach to health and wellness and draws on
a combination of therapies that include nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy,
acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine to create an individualized health plan for her
patients. Objective health assessment methods include the use of both conventional labs, as
well as specialized diagnostic tests to better understand the processes fuelling the illness and to
inform and fine-tune the treatment plan.
Dr. Yu has a special interest in Environmental Medicine, as the increased negative impact of
environmental pollution and toxicant exposure has become more apparent over time, with
increases in the rates of diseases such as cancer, autoimmunity, cardiovascular disease,
diabetes, etc. and in other health conditions such as infertility and hormonal disorders. She
uses the principles and Environmental Medicine to better investigate and treat complex chronic
health conditions. She has a special interest in autoimmune conditions, mold illness, hormones
and metabolic health. She also has experience managing digestive disorders, anxiety and
depression, fatigue and brain fog.
She has also completed additional training in Environmental Medicine with the late Dr. Walter
Crinnion- one of the great pioneers of Environmental Medicine in North America. She has also
received Mold-Literate Certification under the instruction of Dr. Jill Crista and has obtained the
Standard of Practice for Prescribing and provides Intravenous Nutrient Therapy in Ontario.
Dr. Yu is a member in good standing of the College of Naturopaths of Ontario and the Canadian
and Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors. She also volunteers as a board member on
the Board of Directors of the National Association of Environmental Medicine.
